Το 2008 η Sony BMG κυκλοφορεί ένα διπλό cd με τα καλύτερα τραγούδια του Rory Gallagher. Τραγούδια σχεδόν απ’ όλα τα άλμπουμ του Gallagher έρχονται να σε βάλουν στην μουσική του.

Στο πρώτο περιέχει τα Laundromat απ’ το άλμπουμ Rory Gallagher μ‘ έναν αρκετά περίεργο στίχο, Bad Penny απ’ το Top Priority, Edged in blue και  Barley and Grape Rag απ’ το Calling Card, Lonesome Highway  και  As the crow flies  απ’ το Wheels Within Wheels,  Loanshark blues απ’ το Defender, Brute Force and Ignorance απ’ το Photo-Finish, Bought and Sold και Out on the Western Plain απ’ το Against the Grain και Who's That Coming απ’ το  Tattoo.

Τα δικά μου πολύ αγαπημένα είναι το Moonchild απ’ το Calling Card, το Follow me απ’ το Top Priority, το I Fall apart απ’ το  Rory Gallagher και το A million miles away απ’ το Tattoo.

28 τραγούδια καθαρό rock. Πότε blues και πότε πιο «σκληρά» χωρίς ποτέ να φεύγει απ’ το είδος του. Εξαιρετικές μουσικές και ενορχηστρώσεις. Υπέροχος στίχος απλός, αληθινός και μια μοναδική φωνή να συνοδεύει την κιθάρα. Έτσι κι αλλιώς το μοναδικό μ’ αυτόν τον καλλιτέχνη είναι ότι το πρωτεύον όργανο στην μουσική του δεν είναι η φωνή αλλά η κιθάρα.

Με πάνω από 30 εκατομμύρια πωλήσεις παγκοσμίως. O Gallagher άφησε εποχή όντας όχι μόνο εξαιρετικός κιθαρίστας-έτσι κ αλλιώς θεωρείται ένας απ’ τους καλύτερους κιθαρίστες στον κόσμο αλλά και ένας εξαιρετικός performer. Σε μια συνέντευξη του ο Jimi Hendrix το 1969 λίγο μετά το  Woodstock έκανε την θρυλική δήλωση: “Interviewer: So Jimi, what's it like to be the best guitarist in the world?  Jimi: I dunno, ask Rory Gallagher that question sir.”

Εν κατακλείδι είναι ένα πολύ καλό collection άλμπουμ γιατί σου δίνει μια συνολική εικόνα απ’ την δουλειά του Gallagher. Τραγούδια που όλοι λίγο-πολύ έχουμε τραγουδήσει, από έναν καλλιτέχνη που σίγουρα όποιος τον έχει ακούσει τον λατρεύει.
