τραγούδια που ξεχωρίζουν είναι τα Strange Relationship και Insatiable που
ήταν και οι 2 πρώτες μεγάλες επιτυχίες του cd. Ξεχωρίζουν ακόμα τα Like It Or Not μια πολύ
όμορφη μπαλάντα, Crush (1980 ME), Creepin' Up On You, I Miss You μια ακόμα πολύ
όμορφη μπαλάντα και I Can't Ever Get Enough Of You. Τα δικά μου
πολύ αγαπημένα είναι το Dirty, και
το strange relationship το οποίο
πραγματικά λατρεύω.

Με τον Walter Afanasieff (Aretha
Franklin, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Michael Bolton αλλά και Savage Garden)
στην παραγωγή δεν θα μπορούσε παρά να είναι άψογη. Οι μελωδίες
είναι πολύ καλές, σε όλες βέβαια έχει βάλει το χέρι του ο Darren Hayes και “ντύνουν” όπως πρέπει τον στίχο του κάθε κομματιού.
Φανερά επηρεασμένο από Wham, Michael Jackson, George Michael και Police, ο Hayes παίρνει σαν
βάση την pop και
βάζει κάποια στοιχεία R&B και electronica χωρίς ποτέ να φεύγει
απ’ το είδος του.

Η φωνή
του είναι εξαιρετική για το είδος που προσφέρει. Καθαρά pop, άλλοτε πιο
“καθαρή” και άλλοτε με περισσότερα εφέ, ο Hayes την
προσαρμόζει έτσι ώστε να κάνει το κομμάτι ακόμα πιο ενδιαφέρον. Δεν αλλάζει
καθόλου από τότε που ήταν στους Savage Garden και αυτό
είναι-κατά την γνώμη μου-προς τιμή του. Ο στίχος του απλός, καθημερινός και
απολύτως κατανοητός, δίνει το κάτι παραπάνω στο γενικό σύνολο.
